5 Good Oils to Mainain Your Locks!

The natural treatment of  locks is made possible by certain oils such as jojoba  and coconut  oils  . People often think locks are not maintained.

They often think that dreadlock curls   don’t need to be washed, that we can just let them live their lives naturally.

However, it is not so. The choice of product you use to wash your hair is also important.

1 – Castor oil

Recipe 1: Oil bath for hair

An oil bath is a pre-shampoo treatment that consists of one or more vegetable oils applied to dry or slightly damp hair.

Indeed, it allows them to be deeply nourished and repaired. Of course, you can choose the vegetable oil that best suits your hair.

100% Natural, Virgin, First Cold Pressed Coconut Oil is effective for the care of curly , wavy and curly hair .

For 50 ml of hair bath oil you will need at least:

  • 3 and a half tablespoons of coconut oil (liquid).
  • 1 tablespoon of avocado oil.
  • 1 tablespoon macadamia oil .

After mixing the carrier oils in an applicator or small bowl, apply the oil in sections throughout your hair.

Then, cover your hair with a plastic cap + towel and leave for an hour.

After the contact time, rinse the oil and carry out a light shampoo or a general shampoo.

Recipe n° 2: Moisturizing mask

Masks are an important step in a hair care routine for curly, frizzy and wavy hair.

Indeed, it allows intensive hydration and nutrition of the hair . It also gives softness and recovery to drier hair . Do not hesitate if you have locks!

For 100 g of mask:

  • 3 tablespoons of coconut oil (liquid).
  • 4 tablespoons of aloe vera gel.
  • 10 g of honey.
  • 10 drops of  ylang-ylang essential oil.

In a small bowl, add aloe vera, coconut oil and honey one by one.

Mix until you get a homogeneous composition. Then add the ylang-ylang essential oil and mix again.

On previously washed hair, apply the mask in sections.

Gently untangle your hair and leave the mask on for 20 to 30 minutes under a charlotte or even a heated cap for easier absorption.

Water and vegetable oil are ideal for taking care of locks.

Castor, jojoba, carapate, and coconut oils are extremely nourishing and moisturizing oils. In fact, they are among the best oils for locks even if there are others.

These oils work well when combined with pure shea butter .

Depending on the different hair textures, the mixture can be applied as a spray.
