How Much Hair Falls Naturally Each Day?

There are many possible reasons for hair loss.

With us, the rhythm of life increases, and the hair also sees all the colors.

However, this hair loss is not necessarily pathological because hair has a life cycle from formation to fall.

Natural, seasonal or pathological loss?

Use this article to determine the nature of your hair loss, know the causes and possible solutions to compensate for this loss.

How much hair do women have on average?

According to the scientific journal Futura Santé , a human being has on average between  100,000 and 150,000 hairs , or about 200 to 250 per cm2.

Science journalist Pierre-Yves Frei, head of the exhibit at Geneva’s Natural History Museum, noted that there are differences depending on hair color.

This puts blondes in the upper middle. They have around 150,000 hairs, with between 75,000 and 90,000 for redheads and around 100,000 for browns.

However, red hair often compensates with thicker hair.

In fact,  dark hair,  which is generally thicker, appears in lesser amounts. But if you look at the thickness, it is impossible to notice that this dark hair has less hair.

Differences in numbers are also observed according to other criteria: gender, ethnic origin, age or even physical condition. For example, women generally have more abundant hair  than men.

Do we lose more hair with the seasons?

There is definitely a correlation between seasons and hair loss.

We lose more hair in autumn  (up to 100 hairs per day instead of 50) and at the beginning of spring and less in summer. Seasonal changes affect losses.

However, the seasonal drop should not last more than six weeks. Beyond that, there are other factors to look for.

How do you know if hair loss is normal?

The first thing to know about hair loss is  that it is a natural occurrence. Each person loses between 50 to 100 hairs per day. Hair loss is considered  pathological  if the loss is more than 100 hairs per day.

Hair life?

From appearance to hair loss, the lifespan of a hair is about four years.

This duration is more than three years for men and four to seven years for women.

Indeed, when a hair dies,  it will be replaced by a new hair,  where the first should fall.

What are the different factors that cause (normal) hair loss?

Stress, emotional shock, pregnancy, poor lifestyle, contraception or illness: In addition to the breaking of the rules, certain factors can give rise to hair.

However, these factors do not determine permanent, but temporary hair loss.

In other words, once the underlying cause is identified and treated, the hair will start to regrow.

To boost hair growth do not hesitate to also take oral vitamins.

When to worry about hair loss?

Hair loss is considered  pathological  when a person loses more than 100 hairs per day.

How to see it and what to do?

Excessive hair loss can be detected initially by  lightening of the vertex and frontal lobe areas.  It can also be identified by more sparse areas, showing the skull.

In this case, a consultation  with a dermatologist  will determine whether the hair loss is normal or pathological and may be the cause of a partial or complete state of health, also called alopecia.

There are different types of alopecia, the most common being ‘  androgenic  ‘ which refers to the gradual but permanent loss of hair.

When you are a woman – is it possible to have baldness?

Hair loss affects men the most. In fact, about a third of men  experience baldness  in their 30s, half in their 50s, and about 80% in their 60s.

However, women can also be affected by this phenomenon. Less commonly, between 2% and 5% develop baldness before age 30 and around 40% after age 70.

Genetics seems to play a major role in  the occurrence of baldness,  especially in men.

In this case,  regrowth  does not occur naturally.

If this capillary situation is embarrassing for some people, the solution is more and more democratic.

Learn about tricopigmentation which includes scalp coloring and hair transplantation, also known as hair implants.

If hair loss is not due to normal and natural causes, it can have many causes.

Among the most common are  genetic alopecia,  stress, menopause, problems related to infertility, contraindications to treatment, etc.
