Wash your hair without shampoo Thanks to no poo!

Do you know no poo ?

Behind this popular technique is the desire  to remove chemicals  from your bathroom to protect the health of your hair.

We are also talking about environmental issues and more thoughtful consumption.

And the no-poo trend? What are the benefits of No Poo for the hair? We will explain it to you.

No Poo – what is it?

In fact, no poo means in English no shampoo! The idea behind this step is simple: stop using shampoo unless it’s part of your routine.

Instead, you should always wash your hair, but with natural products.

Using the no poo method, one also splits shampoos by trying to wash their hair without shampoo once a week.

Of course, some chemicals in industrial shampoos are dangerous, a new consumer trend that has gained momentum in recent years.

Consume better, and use as much as possible products without harmful ingredients.

The problem with unnatural shampoos is that they contain chemicals that damage the scalp and damage the hair.

Not to mention the negative environmental impact of the industrial shampoo production process.

Even animals are concerned, but  No Poo is not the only emerging movement that has been talked about in recent years.

We have also heard of Low Poo or water only or even  the sebum cure.  Low poo is using solid, natural shampoos or washing your hair with conditioner. Water  only  consists of using only water to wash your hair.

No Poo, Low Poo, Full Poo – know it all?

There are several actions that involve reducing shampoo use, as opposed to Full Poo, which involves using shampoo without regard to its chemicals:

  • No Poo  uses no shampoo at all and replaces it with natural ingredients.
  • Low poo  is the use of sulfate-free, paraben-free and silicone-free shampoos.

A variation of this step is to wash your hair with conditioner.

  • Water only  represents washing your hair with water only, without chemicals or natural products.

The 5 benefits of No Poo

No poo controls excess sebum.

The absence of chemicals to wash the hair prevents clogging the scalp. In addition, some natural ingredients used instead of washing have the advantage of controlling excess sebum. Such is, for example,  the Rhassoul.

So it works best if you have oily hair! By putting yourself on the Noo Poo, you break the cycle of the famous “I wash my hair too much because it is greasy”.

Commitment to the environment

It is undeniable that by getting into Noo Poo,  we are doing our part to protect the environment.

A green way that supports ecology because no longer using shampoo helps reduce waste.

And since you don’t wash your hair very often, water consumption is also limited.

Wrap fine hair to restore volume

Whether you have fine, straight, curly or frizzy hair, you will enjoy hair restoration with the No Poo.

Because the hair fiber can breathe better, the hair becomes shapely.

Take care of your health

While No Poo is a way to take care of your hair, it’s also a way to take care of your overall health.

The prohibition of harmful and carcinogenic products protects against certain diseases.

Avoid parabens, silicones, surfactants and other endocrine disruptors.

Clean the scalp

For all the reasons mentioned above, No Poo also affects scalp health.

As the latter is not constantly attacked and can breathe again, the scalp no longer itches.

No Poo – how to make the transition?

To switch to No Poo , you need to find natural solutions in shampoos.

Women with normal hair can try water only without replacing shampoo with other products.

Although the procedure takes a few weeks, it can really prove itself.

Another trick is to wash your hair with baking soda and rinse your hair with apple cider vinegar.

Make sure to only use this method once every 2 weeks so the hair doesn’t dry out.

For others, it is better to look for  natural ingredients adapted to your hair type.

Among the natural ingredients used most often by those who make No Poo, we find:

  • The egg.
  • The banana.
  • White clay or green clay.
  • the lawyer.
  • Dry shampoos.
  • Rhassoul powder.
  • Baking soda.
  • Honey.
  • Apple cider vinegar.

How to wash your hair without shampoo?

Whichever method is used, it is important to:

  • Massage your scalp while shampooing to stimulate blood circulation and sebum, essential for a healthy scalp, but also to protect it from infections .
  • Then rinse with warm water (make sure it’s not too hot) as hot water will remove too much oil.
  • Finally, rinse quickly with cold water to close the hair cuticles. Oil the tips if necessary.

It should be noted that the transition to No Poo will continue gradually. We will remove the shampoos one by one until we reach a maximum of one shampoo per week, then little by little we can stop washing our hair for a while to regulate the production of sebum.

After sebum regulation, you can switch to No Poo completely and make your own dry shampoo or natural shampoo recipe.

No Poo is a special method, but one that is very successful: after the end of the adaptation period, which can be difficult for some from a psychological point of view, you can see shiny and healthy hair, so that you no longer need to put tons of chemicals on your head.
